  • Alabama State has moved its homecoming football game against Florida A&M to Friday, October 9, with kickoff listed by the host school at 11:05 a.m. Central — 12:05 p.m. Eastern — at ASU Stadium in Montgomery. The game had been scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at 3 p.m. Central.

The broadcast changes with the date. SWAC TV will carry the game instead of HBCU GO, Alabama State announced Wednesday, with Jared Oliver and Vaughn Wilson on the call. Fans planning to watch should update both their start time and their viewing destination.

  • The university attributed its adjusted homecoming schedule to anticipated impacts from Isaias and public safety concerns. Florida A&M separately confirmed the move to Friday and the SWAC TV broadcast. The visiting school's announcement lists noon Eastern; Alabama State's lead announcement and WSFA's reporting give an 11:05 a.m. Central kickoff, or 12:05 p.m. Eastern.

  • For supporters traveling to Montgomery, the football game is only part of the change. Alabama State said its other homecoming activities scheduled from Friday through Sunday had been rescheduled, with further details still forthcoming. That announcement does not supply replacement dates for every event, so a previously planned homecoming itinerary needs a separate check against the university's updates.

Jaeden Day of the Montgomery Advertiser independently reported the schedule change and the original Saturday start. His report also notes that the Hornets entered the week after a 16–10 loss to Bethune-Cookman on October 3. Friday still gives Alabama State its scheduled meeting with Florida A&M; the immediate change is when supporters attend and how viewers watch.

Alabama State said it would continue monitoring conditions and share further updates through its official channels. As announced Wednesday, the game remains on the schedule, with an earlier date and a new broadcaster.
