Jack Kiser joins Bengals as Bozeman’s forearm injury sends him to IR

Cincinnati adds the former Notre Dame linebacker from Jacksonville; Zac Taylor said Bozeman’s injury is not believed to end his season.

  • The Bengals claimed linebacker Jack Kiser off waivers from Jacksonville on Monday and placed Swayze Bozeman on injured reserve after his forearm injury in Sunday’s win over Miami.

The moves address the same position as Cincinnati comes out of its 31-24 victory. Bozeman suffered a broken forearm, coach Zac Taylor told reporters Monday. Taylor said he did not believe the injury was season-ending, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Injured reserve will keep Bozeman out for at least four games. That requirement gives the Bengals a defined period to cover, even though the team has not announced a date for his return.

  • Kiser is a second-year linebacker who played at Notre Dame under Al Golden, now Cincinnati’s defensive coordinator. Jacksonville drafted him in the fourth round in 2025. He appeared in 14 regular-season games as a rookie and recorded 10 defensive tackles plus four on special teams, according to the Bengals’ transaction announcement.

This season, he spent one game on Jacksonville’s practice squad and was inactive for three games before the Jaguars waived him Saturday. Cincinnati’s claim gives him a new opportunity; the transaction alone does not establish his role or playing time.

  • Bozeman’s injury was one of the medical developments from the Miami game. Taylor also said tight end Tanner Hudson had a pectoral injury and that the team was gathering more information. Hudson’s status remains separate from the confirmed injured-reserve move for Bozeman.
