The Los Angeles Rams signed Brandon McManus on Tuesday, turning to the veteran after Blake Grupe’s season-ending knee injury left them looking for another kicker ahead of Sunday’s trip to Las Vegas.
McManus, 35, replaces Grupe, who tore his ACL against Arizona and went on injured reserve Monday. Los Angeles had released Harrison Mevis the previous week, making McManus the third kicker the Rams have brought into the job this season.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that McManus worked out Tuesday alongside Matt Prater before the Rams chose him. The team subsequently confirmed the signing.

Two different seasons in Green Bay
McManus made 44 of 51 field-goal attempts and 62 of 63 extra points across 25 games with the Packers in 2024 and 2025, according to the Rams. His field-goal percentage over those two seasons was 86.3%.
The combined figures include a particularly accurate 2024 season. McManus converted 20 of 21 field goals that year, including all three attempts from at least 50 yards, and made each of his 30 extra points.
Last season was less consistent. NBC Sports reported that he made 24 of 30 field goals and 32 of 33 extra points in 14 regular-season games. He then missed two field goals and an extra point in Green Bay’s playoff loss to Chicago, and the Packers moved on during the offseason.
A veteran replacement before Week 7
McManus arrives with 186 regular-season games on his résumé. NBC Sports put his career conversion rates at 82% on field goals and 97.4% on extra points.
He also brings championship experience from Denver’s 2015 season. During that postseason run, he made all 10 field-goal attempts and all three extra points as the Broncos won the Super Bowl.
His next assignment is with a Rams team preparing to visit the Raiders in Week 7.
