  • San Francisco stayed unbeaten, Denver’s defense rescued a stalled offense and Detroit turned a slow start into a 45-point afternoon. The three Sunday late-window games ended with the 49ers beating Seattle 32-29, the Broncos beating the Chargers 23-17 and the Lions beating Arizona 45-21.

Purdy finishes two late drives, Mustapha finishes Seattle’s last chance

The 49ers improved to 5-0 with an Eddy Pineiro field goal from 44 yards out with 1:56 remaining. Brock Purdy had already brought San Francisco back from a 26-21 deficit with a seven-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks and a two-point conversion to Mike Evans.

Seattle answered that touchdown with a field goal to tie it at 29. Purdy then moved the 49ers into position for Pineiro’s winning kick. On the Seahawks’ final possession, Malik Mustapha stopped Cooper Kupp a yard short on fourth down, ending Seattle’s chance to take the lead back.

Denver turns Herbert’s last four possessions into the comeback

The Broncos trailed 17-10 entering the fourth quarter after Kimani Vidal’s 42-yard touchdown run. Their response started by stopping Justin Herbert’s fourth-and-one sneak, then scoring on Bo Nix’s five-yard pass to Courtland Sutton.

  • Zach Allen forced a Herbert fumble on the next Los Angeles possession, and Que Robinson recovered at the Chargers’ 23-yard line. That short field led to Wil Lutz’s go-ahead 19-yard field goal with 5:07 left.

  • Brandon Jones’ interception set up another Lutz field goal, and Ja’Quan McMillian sacked Herbert on the last play. Denver scored the final 13 points and improved to 3-2 despite gaining 224 yards and converting one of 12 third downs. The Chargers are 0-5.
