The Eagles run out of possessions
Eastern Michigan finished with 21 first downs, matching Toledo's total. The Eagles had far less success keeping drives alive when they needed a fourth-down conversion, and their running game produced only 34 yards on 28 attempts. Kim passed for 214 yards and two touchdowns; Long caught seven passes for 84 yards.
Kim's 12-yard touchdown pass to Harold Mack gave Eastern Michigan its second score in the third quarter. A muffed punt handed Toledo another short field, and Griffith converted it into a 29-yard field goal. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter.
The Rockets also supplied plenty of opportunities through penalties, drawing 14 flags for 118 yards. Their offense absorbed those setbacks with 192 rushing yards alongside Richter's passing. Miller finished with 48 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries, while Dabbs and Bryson Hammer each caught five passes.
Toledo returns to the Glass Bowl to face Western Michigan on October 24. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
