Garrett Wilson is in concussion protocol as the 2-6 Jets head to Kansas City
Aaron Glenn called his top receiver day-to-day on Wednesday. The better news is Breece Hall, who is trending toward a return after missing five games.

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is in the concussion protocol and is day-to-day, coach Aaron Glenn said Wednesday. That puts Wilson's status in doubt for Sunday's game at Kansas City, where the Jets are heavy underdogs.
Wilson took a shot to the head on a catch on the next-to-last play of Sunday's 38-33 loss to the Raiders, and safety Jeremy Chinn was flagged for unnecessary roughness. Wilson stayed in for the final snap, a Hail Mary thrown his way that fell incomplete. He reported concussion symptoms at the facility Monday.
He leads the Jets with 43 catches, 527 yards and three touchdowns. Without him, Adonai Mitchell and rookie Omar Cooper Jr. would carry the passing game. Mitchell had a career-high 147 yards last week, and Cooper already has two 100-yard games.

Hall is close
Running back Breece Hall is "trending in the right direction" after missing five games with a quadriceps injury, Glenn said. Hall has practiced on a limited basis for two weeks and was questionable each of the last two weeks.
The Jets haven't had to rush him. Braelon Allen has run for 504 yards at 5.0 yards per carry in his five starts, and only Tampa Bay's Bucky Irving (548) has more rushing yards over that stretch. Asked how he'd split the work, Glenn said, "Both will play," and left it there.
Hall signed a three-year, $43.5 million deal this offseason and has come up in trade talk. "We're in the business of keeping good players, and he's one of our better players," Glenn said Monday. "So Breece will still be here."
Help on defense
Rookie David Bailey, who leads the team with 5.5 sacks, is likely back after missing a game with a groin injury. Edge rusher Joseph Ossai should return from an ankle injury that cost him three games.
What to watch
The Jets have lost three straight. Wilson needs to clear every step of the protocol by Sunday, and the practice reports on Thursday and Friday will show whether he's on track. The trade deadline is Tuesday, so Hall's usage in Kansas City will be watched closely too.
