The Rams had a lead with 47 seconds remaining. The Raiders had erased a 10-point deficit. The Chargers had an end-zone interception and an extra possession from a recovered punt-return fumble.
None of those openings produced a win Sunday. Arizona beat Los Angeles 18-16, Buffalo beat Las Vegas 33-30 and Kansas City beat the Chargers 22-6 in a late window that repeatedly punished unfinished possessions.
Kansas City remained unbeaten at 5-0. Buffalo reached 5-1. The Rams and Raiders were left with close losses, while the Chargers reached their bye at 0-6.

Los Angeles lets a field-goal offense win
Arizona did not score a touchdown. The Cardinals went into the red zone five times and settled for field goals every time, keeping the Rams close enough to take a late lead.
Matthew Stafford finally found Colby Parkinson for a 6-yard touchdown. With injured kicker Blake Grupe unavailable, punter Ethan Evans made the extra point to put the Rams ahead 16-15.
The first Arizona play afterward undid much of that work. Jacoby Brissett completed a 21-yard pass to Jalen Brooks, and Josh Wallace's unnecessary-roughness penalty added 15 yards. Chad Ryland made his sixth kick from 43 yards as time expired.
FOX Sports' official clip shows the finish:
The Rams also lost Davante Adams to a late knee injury. The reviewed reports did not establish a diagnosis or recovery timetable.
Las Vegas ties it, then cannot get a stop
Kirk Cousins threw for 313 yards and Tre Tucker caught two touchdowns. Michael Mayer added seven catches for a career-high 95 yards. The Raiders still lost their third straight game.
Their 91-yard touchdown drive tied Buffalo at 23 with 8:07 left. James Cook III answered by supplying 46 yards on the Bills' next possession, including the 3-yard touchdown that restored the lead.
Buffalo's official video captures Cook finishing that drive:
A Raiders three-and-out allowed Buffalo to add a field goal. Tucker's late 44-yard touchdown cut the deficit to three, but the Bills recovered the onside kick. Las Vegas finished with touchdowns on only two of five red-zone trips and committed the game's only turnover.
Chargers turn chances into six points
Kenneth Walker III gave Kansas City two touchdowns and 128 rushing yards. The Chargers countered with two Cameron Dicker field goals and another afternoon without an offensive touchdown.
Quentin Johnston's 57-yard catch created a promising third-quarter chance, but a holding penalty helped reduce the drive to three points. The recovered punt return brought no points. Later, L'Jarius Sneed forced KeAndre Lambert-Smith's fumble after a catch, and Drue Tranquill recovered:
Ladd McConkey was ruled out with a concussion, adding to an already long injury list. The Chargers enter their bye winless; Kansas City heads to Seattle.
