Florida is expected to start Tramell Jones Jr. against Oklahoma on Saturday night, a source confirmed to ESPN after CBS Sports first reported the move. That puts Jones in for his second career start after last week's 27-8 loss to Georgia left the Gators' quarterback situation a mess.
Aaron Philo started against Georgia and threw two interceptions before Jon Sumrall sat him. Jones came in, added turnovers of his own and still finished as the only Gator with a rushing touchdown. Sumrall still wouldn't name a starter Monday, but he put "or" between the two on the depth chart and said a plan was already in motion.
The Texas resume vs. the Georgia film
Jones already beat Texas on the road as a first-time starter, 22-of-35 for 155 yards and two scores with no picks. ESPN has him at 70.8% completion, 579 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions for the season. Philo still owns most of the starts and the bigger yardage total, and Sumrall has said Jones is dealing with an injury that could need offseason surgery.

Sumrall's blunt read after Georgia was that the offensive line made any quarterback evaluation hard. The No. 24 Gators (5-3, 3-3 SEC) host Oklahoma (4-4, 2-3) Saturday night. Fans who wanted a clean QB1 answer after Georgia aren't getting one. They're getting Jones first, with Philo still in the building.
