The Chicago Bulls assigned rookie forward Dailyn Swain to the Windy City Bulls on Thursday, the team announced on X. The same roster update sent Nic Claxton to the G League affiliate. Windy City confirmed both assignments minutes later.
Swain was the No. 15 pick in the June draft out of Texas. He has barely played for Chicago this season after a quiet opening stretch. Coach Tiago Splitter told the Chicago Sun-Times on Wednesday that Swain, Tobe Awaka and Jaylin Sellers were the November development priorities and would get minutes with Windy City in Friday and Saturday games against the Noblesville Boom while the Bulls are off until Sunday against Philadelphia.
Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic reported Thursday that Swain is expected to suit up when those G League games begin, alongside Awaka and Sellers, and that Splitter wants them moving back and forth this month. Lorenzi framed Claxton's assignment as a step toward the veteran's return from a hamstring injury, with Chicago's next NBA game Sunday at home against the 76ers. The rising development is the No. 15 pick finally getting live reps.

The official move matches what Splitter previewed a day earlier. Swain got seven minutes and three points in Wednesday's 135-105 loss at New York, per ESPN's box score, after sitting out of the rotation for most of the early schedule. K.C. Johnson had already noted before tip that Swain was expected to head to the G League this weekend.
For fantasy and prospect trackers, this is a playing-time assignment. Watch how many minutes Swain gets Friday and Saturday in Hoffman Estates, whether he starts, and whether Chicago recalls him before tip against Philadelphia on Sunday. The Bulls have said the plan is to keep him linked to the big club when Windy City is idle.
