Garrett Wilson says he wasn't yelling at Geno Smith after a two-catch day in the Jets' loss to Miami
CBS cameras caught Wilson screaming on the bench in the fourth quarter of a 28-25 loss to the previously winless Dolphins. Wilson called it collaborating, and the Jets fell to 2-5 and 0-8 in the division under Aaron Glenn.

Garrett Wilson finally blew up on the Jets' bench Sunday, and the CBS cameras caught it. Afterward, the Jets' best receiver said the target wasn't his quarterback.
"We were collaborating," Wilson said after the 28-25 loss to the Miami Dolphins, who came in without a win. "I don't even think I was talking to Geno. I think we were both heated, but not at each other at all. We were just disappointed with how we were playing up to that point and wanted to be a little more aggressive."
Geno Smith backed him up. "He might have been yelling, but I don't think he was yelling at me," Smith said. ESPN reported that Wilson appeared to be shouting at passing-game coordinator Seth Ryan, who was sitting next to Smith, and that Wilson was upset with the red-zone play calls.

You can see why he was mad. Wilson was targeted three times and finished with two catches for 26 yards. That came a week after he drew two targets through three quarters against New England, and after coaches talked about getting him more involved. He wasn't targeted Sunday until the third quarter. Smith threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns on 23-of-30 passing, and most of it went to rookie Omar Cooper Jr. (five catches, 115 yards, a touchdown) and Mason Taylor (five for 62 and two scores).
"I think we can all do a better job of finding ways to get him more targets and more touches," Smith said. "But the ball has to go where it goes based on coverage."
The two walked out of the shower together and talked on the way to their lockers. Wilson said that conversation was about finding a "resolution" and getting the ball in his hands.
The heat is on Aaron Glenn. The Jets are 2-5, Glenn is 0-8 against the AFC East, and MetLife Stadium booed at halftime and again at the end. New York trailed 21-7 at the half to a team that hadn't led in any of its first five games, and Glenn let the clock run out on the first half with Miami threatening and three timeouts in his pocket.
"I'm highly disappointed in myself," Glenn said. He also said he still believes "this program is going in the right direction." Wilson's response: "At 2-5, we're not in a good spot."
